famous and beautiful kaanapali beach is also within a short drive, there is a awesome farmers market very close by (50ft) , within a short walk there is local restaurants, markets and many local shops, in the complex there is a Jr Olympic pool and a and a Jacuzzi which you can fully use and enjoy, Kapalua airport is about 10 minutes away, bus stop is just outside complex, all this and the indescribable tropical maui views and weather, you wont find a nicer safer cheaper place to stay in maui

ABOUT THE FARM
The mango farm is a 1.7 Acre family orchard. We grow 8 different kinds of mangoes as well as assortment of other tropical fruits like Apple Bananas, pineapple, coconut, longan, limes, oranges, papaya, lilikoi and suriname cherries. We have small herb and vegetable gardens, as well as about 15 free range hens, 4 ducks and a sweet (very talkative) kitty named Tea Cup.
ABOUT THE LOCATION
Kealakekua Bay provides incredible Snorkeling, Kayaking, Paddle boarding and Surfing. You can swim with Dolphins, Turtles, Fish, Whales, Rays in the Bay. This is the spot to be for ocean lovers and adventurers!
The local beaches often offer incredible Kona Coast sunsets! There are 3 beaches within about a mile, another 5 miles away and many more within 15 miles of the property.
The farm borders the oldest coffee mill in the US. They are open to the public for tours and sampling. The mill is a great place to grab a morning espresso and treats. Coffee production season is late July-Jan and the mill’s operations unpredictably start very early in the morning and can go into the evening (but production only lasts a few hours a day.) The noise has never been an issue for guests at this house.
Located in historic Napoopoo, the farm is centrally located only 16 miles from the town center of Kailua-Kona. Also, there’s an awesome local eatery within a 5 minute walk serving up shaved ice, grass fed beef burgers and plate lunches like Kalbi and Teriyaki Beef. The coffee mill is also less than a 10 minute walk and has smoothies, espresso drinks, sandwiches, fig/banana bread pudding, baked goods, ice cream and local fruits.
Up the hill (10-15 minute drive) there’s grocery shopping and some excellent restaurants such as Keei Café, Mi’s Italian Bistro, Strawberry Patch, Nasturtium Café and more.
The property is centrally located on the Island and you can easily do day-trips to Volcano (90 mins) or the Kohala Coast (60 mins).

Diamond Head hike is only 2 minutes drive away with a great view of the whole city from the top. There are also a few hiking trails to the Koolau mountains towards the mountains. Towards the east, you have the popular lighthouse and crater hike too! You are welcome to join me on a hiking adventure anytime!
It is also walking distance to Kapahulu with lots of Ono (delicious) local and foreign food, and grocery stores, which are a lot inexpensive compare to Waikiki. Some popular local restaurants are Zippy’s, Ono Hawaiian, Genki Sushi, Rainbows Drive inn, Leanards Malasadas, Waoila Shave Ice etc. Also some american fast food like JAck in the Box, TAco Bell, KFC etc.

The hostel is in a rustic plantation house that was owned and inhabited by my grandparents for 75 years. You will enjoy the wonderful ocean view and the many fruit and macadamia nut trees on the property. We are a “green” facility which is cleaned with non-toxic cleaning products. Our linens and towels are laundered with nontoxic laundry detergent.
Our guest rooms are called “hostel style” but are really private rooms. The rooms are small and simple, yet nicely decorated, clean and with great beds. They share a simple common area with couches, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, cable TV, wi-fi, patio with gas grill (with a burner for cooking) and table, and a rustic plantation style bathroom.
Our rates are $35 per night for one person and $45 per night for 2 people sharing a room plus tax. We have private rooms downstairs and private rooms upstairs.

Gorgeous custom honeymoon style suite features breathtaking views of two of the most magical mountains in the world: Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa which can be seen from the room or from the large hot tub on the private 17 foot second story deck! The room features a queen bed, mountain and rain forest (and no neighbors!) views from the six glorious windows, and custom tile bathroom with Koehler fixtures, and a tile shower with side by side independently plumbed double shower heads (with infinite hot water) and yet more massive windows with rain forest views. The room includes wireless internet (3g style medium speed mifi) and if you don’t have your own computer there is an Imac – and also Brother fax/printer and brand new Epson scanner. Your stay includes use of the house phone – Mon thru Sat. especially early in the month I often need to have the phone for work from 8am to 2pm at the latest but when I am not using it you can have unlimited calls to the U.S. and Canada. Your cell phone should work fine here as well.
The true jewel of this place is the private deck with four person (actually fits more than that!) Baja spa hot tub. A private hot tub is pretty rare in Volcano – and the views are absolutely beyond compare. You just might agree that this is the best view of anywhere you could stay in Volcano! And according to my mom on the whole island
You have a coffee maker in your room and we will supply you with coffee, filters, cream and sweeteners and a selection of tropical fruit that is in season at our local farmers market.
I am an excellent chef and enjoy cooking many world cuisines and custom meals can be negotiated.
You can bring up to two kids for no additional charge and we will provide one toddler floor mattress or one pack n play style crib (don’t expect to have much room to walk in that case). The toddler mattress and and pack n play probably won’t fit at the same time, but if you can make it work you can use them both.
We are just over 20 miles from the Hilo Airport and the amazing privacy is conveniently located on a paved dead end street (again with no immediate neighbors) just a minute or two from Highway 11. We are less than five minutes from the shops and restaurants of Volcano Village and from there it is just about a minute to the Volcano National Park which some years is literally the most popular destination in all of Hawaii. Just past the park entrance is the Volcano Golf and Country Club and the Volcano Winery which offers wine tastings every day until 5pm. Nearby can be found some of the most fabulous hikes in all the world. We are at about 2800 feet and the weather is often cool and rainy. On a sunny day it is cosmic here and it is almost always the perfect temperature to exercise.
I have lived on almost every island in Hawaii and have spent the last six years working in real estate so I know these islands extremely well and as your host am happy to spend time helping you plan your itinerary or learn about the native plants.
You get the entire upstairs of the house and with our most excellent soundproofing you will probably have all the privacy you desire. Please do be warned that the downstairs is inhabited by my family which includes myself, my hubby and our two boys age almost 3 and almost 1. We tend to go to bed early and the baby is usually pretty happy. You definitely do not have to worry about making noise as the privacy door protects us.
You are welcome to share our gourmet kitchen which includes appliances like a cappuccino machine, microwave, toaster oven, vitamix, stand mixer, juicer, etc. However you must work with my family’s schedule and I can’t promise you a lot of room in the fridge.
You can also share our comfy (but usually covered in toys) living room and if you can pry it away from the boys (and that includes my hubby) you can watch the large flat screen or play some Playstation Move.
If you enjoy drinking we have a full selection of booze glasses in plastic that are hot tub friendly! And our fridge has an ice maker so consider ice included
The house is non-smoking but you are welcome to smoke on your private deck or on our front porch if the kids aren’t around.
We feel the suite is a STEAL for the area (we used to vacation rental the suite for over triple this price) but since we have the kids now (the common areas used to be an oasis of calm) and we are just getting back into the vacation rental scene we are offering this amazing deal. There is a $25 cleaning fee which mostly goes toward the costs of supplies and keeping the hot tub fresh.

There is a large, comfy King bed with soft, fresh smelling sheets, air conditioning, WIFI plus a printer, a flat screen TV, a DVD player, Cable TV including HBO and Showtime channels, bottled Menehune Water, a full-size washer and dryer (shared), a vanity area, 2 dressers, and a huge, gorgeous, fully equipped lanai (may be shared with on-site family of 3).
Your studio has a separate locked entrance and is completely private. There is a bathroom off the bedroom with a toilet and sink. Enjoy your showers outside in a private, fully contained shower complete with walls and a double curtain entrance. For your convenience, brand new robes are provided during your stay. We also provide shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, and of course, bottled Menehune Water.
Your living room is a totally massive, fully equipped, and beautifully landscaped lanai that is absolutely gorgeous! The lanai features a couch, multiple dining tables, a stereo with cassette player, and even an area for playing horseshoes. There is not a kitchen in your studio; however there is a mini fridge, a nice Weber grill on the lanai, and an extra large cooler. There is also a coffee maker next to the washer and dryer. There are dogs that live in the main house, but they will not be in your area, as they have a self contained play area on a completely separate lanai on the other side of the main house.
As a special bonus, we also own a nice boat and would be happy to discuss private whale watching tours and/or fishing/snorkeling trips once you arrive in Maui.

The Treehouse is spacious enough for couples and cozy enough for singles. While staying at the Treehouse, we are close enough to the beach that you can hear the waves all day and night. Smell the fragrance of Plumerias (a favorite in leis) and gardenias that fill the air. Listen to the birds sing and coo all day long. Chickens with their baby chicks and scuttle through the yard looking for worms. Palm fronds flutter in the tropical breeze. Banana trees burst with inflorescence producing an abundance of bananas. Coconuts drop daily so watch your head – if you’ve never had fresh coconut water, you’re in for a treat. Exotic birds of paradise stand there looking pretty. My playful cats will entertain you and make you laugh. They are bursting with joy living in paradise and can’t help but show it. I feel the same way! I am fortunate to have found airbnb to let other cool people know about my place with whom I can share a slice of paradise with. In every case without exception, everyone has one or more of the following experiences here: fun-filled, joyful, restful, peaceful, memorable, spiritual, uplifting, life-inspiring and sometimes all of the above.
The Treehouse features a private top floor upstairs with 1 queen bed (with memory foam mattress!), 1 private sundeck (with screened-in lanai), 1 private bathroom with tub and 1 outdoor shower with optional 2nd bedroom with queen bed downstairs (offered at 10% discount), access to full kitchen and dining room downstairs that we share and a 2nd shared sundeck with screened-in lanai.

I know the island well, so I’m an excellent resource for choosing what’s best to do on your island vacation, including where the best hikes are located, where the dolphins and turtles swim (including their caves), and where are the best secluded beaches, etc.
We are walking distance to the beach; the local farmer’s market every weekend, the Whaler’s General Store, and Kauai’s best charbroiled hamburgers on the island.
As a MUCH added benefit, I have pristine spring water delivered to the house every week from Kauai’s Mt. Waialeale, the “Wettest place on earth” and naturally filtered by thousands of feet of volcanic strata. Instead of drinking the tap water or buying expensive and inferior bottled spring water on your vacation, I can have the most pristine water in the world delivered to your room for only $18 for 5 gallons. This is of course optional and whatever you don’t use, I’ll buy back from you.
Staying with me on your vacation can be either a secluded one where you keep to yourselves and have the upstairs all to your selves or we can hang out together downstairs for a few meals and talk story. It’s up to you. I meet very interesting people visiting Kauai this way. Sometimes it’s their honeymoon as in the case of Nick and Amy from Vancouver Island, Canada. Other times it’s life-changing as in the case of Claudia and Monika from Germany. No matter what, I assure you that staying with me on Kauai will be a most memorable vacation for you and your loved one or guests.

P.S. If my calendar is booked during your desired dates, write to me anyway because I can recommend other homes for you to stay AND I will still help you with some ideas and tips for enjoying Kauai. Sometimes people stay elsewhere, but they hang with me : -) because I take them to cool places and local happenings. I also have some local friends who offer private hikes that aren’t open to the public and private surf lessons in uncrowded places, and the list goes on and on…
P.S.S. Everyone asks me about discount car rentals. I’m sorry to say that virtually EVERYONE who rents a discount island car ends up having problems. The steering doesn’t work, the brakes don’t work and sometimes even the car itself doesn’t work (won’t start). I can’t recommend any choice other than the traditional rental cars. I know they are more expensive and it’s tempting to go for the cheaper ‘no name’ rentals, but plan on spending the first day or two of your vacation swapping out cars until you get one that works and is safe to drive. I see this happen every week and I don’t want you to lose precious vacation time, so pay a little more to get something reliable and save money by eating dinner at home when you get here : -)
P.S.S.S. I often get asked about whether my place is “kid friendly” and I’m sorry to say that it isn’t. I’m sure your children are wonderful, but I know myself really really well and since we are sharing space and I want this to be a fabulous vacation for you and an excellent fit for both of us, I want to tell you upfront that I only accept reservations for adults (over 18).
FACTOID: Did you know that when the Dalai Lama of Tibet came to the Hawaiian Islands in 1994, he asked to see only two places. Both requests were on Kauai and surprisingly he did not even ask to see the world-famous Napali Coast on Kauai. Instead, he asked to see Anahola and Polihale. When his surprised hosts asked why, he said “We [the spiritual leaders of Tibet] know Anahola is a portal where the souls or spirits enter this world and Polihale is where the souls or spirits exit this world.” So there you have it, Anahola recommended by none other than the Dalai Lama himself.

If you enjoy animals you will love hanging out with our milking goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, and rabbits as well as our loving dog and kitty’s. Please remember this is a working farm so there will be farm noises (e.i. roosters in the morning). We also have tropical frogs at night.

Great private clean bedrooms n bathrooms. in our sunny Maui home. The Blue Tropical Room has 2 comfortable twin beds and the Ocean Tan Room has a plush but firm comfortable queen bed.
