A SHARED area of our home, downstairs where the office is located. NOT PRIVATE – but feels private and cozy. You are sharing the bathroom with our eldest (26yo) son who resides downstairs in an adjoining (to the office kitchen area) bedroom. He enters and exits through the garage area so it is very unlikely that you’ll run into him unless you intend to hang out in that area all day. He works nights at Roy’s Kahana and is a late riser because of this. The stairs and front entrance are located in this space, though when we have guests we use the side entrance off our lanai in the mornings to give you privacy. Just wanting to be very clear as we’ve had some people inquire about the amount of privacy afforded in this space.
A VERY comfortable, (we’ve slept on it!), Aerobed mattress – blown up to your specifications. It’s the very cool (read = expensive) elevated kind with ultra comfy cotton sheets. This bed can be put together on the fly for your needs.
No minimum stay required for this place! Flying into Maui late? Flying out of Maui early in the morning? We’re a quick 15 minutes from the airport but a world away. Need a cheap sleep? Great transitional space on your way to your luxury hotel at the beach. We have a 3 night MAXIMUM on this space as it is used daily by family. The intention of the space is to give folks an alternative to paying for additional nights at a hotel, when you’re departing early in the am from Kahului. Or if you arrive on the last flight in and don’t want to cough up the $300 for that first night at a hotel when you’ll not be able to enjoy all the amenities!
If you need space for additional days, we do accommodate on a per situation basis, so please ask. Also, make sure to check out our other listing upstairs – (private room/bath) it may suit you for a longer stretch!
Located in our downstairs office space with a shared bathroom, (full shower and bath) and a kitchenette – a shared, full size fridge to store your snacks/drinks etc, a microwave, cutlery, dishes, a kettle for tea or instant coffee, and a bar size sink for clean up! Plus we’ll always a have a touch of aloha and goodies on arrival to welcome to our island and share her bounty.
We will not be able to provide upstairs access to the rest of the house interior as we will have additional guests + our family, making for tight times! You are, of course, free to enjoy our outdoor lanai, which is located upstairs and around the corner from your room or hang out in our front and/or back yard sitting areas. (Obviously we love to chat and entertain, but want you to enjoy as much privacy as you’d like and as can be offered in a shared/open space – so please feel free to join us on the lanai for a sunset cocktail or beer and a nice round of aloha and conversation…)
Naturally, we’ll provide the clean sheets and bath towels. (If you need beach towels please ask!)
High speed wireless internet included. Street parking.
*The room can get a bit noisy once our 4 year old daughter and 2 pugs have risen in the mornings, (generally around 6am), so if you are an early riser – this shouldn’t be a bother!
